Yonah Mountain Vineyards Awarded the Most Medals of Any Georgia Winery
Yonah Mountain Vineyards, a 200-acre family winery located in Cleveland, GA, was awarded 13 medals at the 2024 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. Yonah Mountain Vineyards won the most awards of any Georgia winery, and its Steamboat AND Elizabeth's Chardonnay were awarded prestigious Double Gold Medals. In addition, Yonah Mountain Vineyards wine won one gold medal, six silver medals, and four bronze medals.
The San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition is currently the largest in North America. All bonded wineries in the United States, Canada, and Mexico are eligible to enter the wine competition. No entries from wines grown or produced outside of North America are eligible to enter. Professional wine judges are sourced throughout the major wine regions in North America to offer diversity of expertise to each judging panel.
"We are always attempting to make the best wine possible," said Bob Miller, owner of Yonah Mountain Vineyards. "The San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition verified that our wines are doing quite well --13 medals and two double gold is very impressive and our entire winery team is grateful for this recognition."
"We couldn't be prouder of our winemaking and vineyard management team," said Jane Miller, owner of Yonah Mountain Vineyards. "The work they have done these last few years is paying off with medal-winning wines."
"Our goal is to make the very best wine in the region that stands up to any created in Napa Valley and other major wine regions," said Eric Miller, GM and Owner at Yonah Mountain Vineyards. "Doing so well at this elite competition, and once again coming out on top as the most-awarded winery in Georgia, is a testament to our commitment to excellence in all areas at Yonah Mountain Vineyards."
"This is such an honor!" said Tristen Vanhoff, Yonah Mountain Vineyards' head winemaker. "It proves we understand what our fruit from both our estate and our contracted California vineyards, can do. To have every wine submitted place in the most prestigious American competition is an extraordinary achievement, and I'm exceptionally proud of our team for brilliantly executing the Millers' goal of world-class wine and service."
